Edgar K. Tham
Edgar Tham is a passionate about helping people break personal barriers and achieve in life. As Singapore’s pioneer Sport Psychologist and
Performance Coach, Edgar coached individuals and teams from more than 40 different sports and high performance domains (including
business, military, music, performing arts) from the schools to world championship levels since 1993. Since then, more than 20,000 people
have attended his performance coaching sessions to learn how to understand the psychology of human performance excellence.
Edgar was the team consultant and traveling psychologist to numerous national teams preparing for the SEA Games, Asian Games,
Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and World Championships. Specifically, he has helped numerous national
athletes achieve sporting success at the international Games arena.
As a registered Psychologist, Edgar is listed in the International Who’s Who of Professionals (2000) for his specialized work in peak
performance psychology. He is the author of In The Zone: The Mindset for Peak Performance in Sports, Psychological Rehabilitation: Mental
Skills for Healing & Recovery and co-author of the Ideal Performance State with Dr Daniel Weigand President of Achieve Acumen, Inc, USA.
He is currently a lecturer for the Singapore Sports Council’s National Coaching Accreditation Programme in Mental Skills Training, and a
part-time faculty member in psychology for Excelsior College (USA), Edith Cowan University, and University of Southern Queensland. Edgar
holds black belts in Aikido and Taekwondo, and has been awarded colours Awards for his leadership and achievements in competitive sports.
